BLACKJACK
Blackjack, or 21, is one of the most popular casino card games.
Object of the game:
To beat the croupier by obtaining a hand higher than the dealer without exceeding 21.
How to Play:
You begin by placing a wager in the betting square. Each player receives two cards, and the croupier receives one card. All cards are dealt face up and only the croupier is permitted to touch the cards.
Card Values
Face Cards (Kings, Queens, and Jacks) have a value of 10
Numbered cards are worth their face value except Ace, which can count as 1 or 11.
Player Options
-Stand – stay with cards dealt; a horizontal hand motion means stand
-Hit – receive additional card(s); a gentle tap or scratch on the table behind your betting square. Double down – double your original bet on your first two (2) cards and receive one additional card only. Double Down after splitting is permitted. -Double down on Blackjack is not permitted. –
-Split is when two cards of identical point value may be split into two new hands. The player may split up to unlimited times the same point value cards by equaling their original bet and placing the bet behind the new two-point total cards. Split aces receive only one card one each.
-Insurance – allowed when croupier’s card is an Ace. Insurance bet may be up to one-half your original bet. If the croupier makes a Blackjack, your original bet loses and insurance is paid 2 to 1. If the croupier does not make a Blackjack the insurance bet is forfeited and the game continues.
If the croupier’s hand totals 17 or more the croupier must stand. If the croupier’s hand is less than 17 the croupier must hit.
Payouts:
All winning hands are paid even money except for Blackjack, which pays three-to-two. When a push (tie) occurs, the player keeps the original bet. A Blackjack, first two cards that equal 21, beats all other combinations of cards that equal 21.
A two-card 21 on split hands is not a Blackjack.
